OCTOBER UPDATE:  Well, we went and volunteered at the Boys & Girls Club in Duluth.  We had lots of fun. We filled the bed of a truck with lots of the goodies we collected and also had a check for $380.00 that was from the carwash and a few other volunteers.  Thanks to all of those who helped us in this cause!  We had lots of fun in Duluth.  We played lots of games like, air hockey, hockey foosball, tag, hoop tag, color tag...lots of tag, basketball, and lots of other games.  We also make picture or poetry books with some of the kids.  
OCTOBER: On Saturday, the 18th of October, we will be heading down to the Boys & Girls Club of Duluth to volunteer our time and deliver the boxes of all the goodies we've collected! IT will be lots of fun.
September: See you at the pole on Sept. 24th @8:10am
We'll be starting TEENs class up again on Wednesday, September 10th. Invite your friends! We will be doing something a little different this year. We've joined up with BluefishTV.com and will be using some of their DVD/CD programs on lots of everyday topics and how they relate to what Christ wants us to do! Bring your Bibles!
AUGUST: Hey TEENS...August 16 from 10am to 2pm we will be holding our car wash for the Boys & Girls Club of Duluth Drop off day. The car wash will be free but we will be taking donations of money, toys, sports equip, school supplies, etc. We will then later take them to the club and donation some of our time volunteering!
APRIL: TEENS are collecting new toys, books, sports equipment, art supplies, hats, mittens, etc. for the Boys & Girls Club of Duluth. We have a box in the foyer of the church if you would like to donate one of these items. THANKS!
MAY: Our last day of regular TEENS class will be on May 14th. End of the Year party information will be coming soon.
We will be planning some summer projects.
One will be spending a day volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club in Duluth. Another, will be working on the church float for the Peter Mitchell Days Parade on June 29th. And we will also have a turn-in day for our Gift Box for the Boys and Girls Club of Duluth. So keep watching our TEENS website for more information during the summer.

2008 SPRING BLITZ Was Such a BlAST!
We had a great time at Spring Blitz. While we were at Blitz, we spent our free time on Saturday volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club in Duluth. We spent time at their Teen Center. We all had our eyes open at how many children needed help. And how blessed we were. We played games, played basketball and spent time making art projects with the kids there. It was so much fun and we got to meet many new friends. While we were there, we were saddened by how poor the conditions were there. Not that it could be helped by staff - they did wonders with what they had! But little was to be had. So our TEENS decided they wanted to help these kids out by providing some very much needed supplies and just some extra stuff for the kids. We found out that most of the kids come from families of broken homes, drug addicts, gang members and a number of other problems. These kids are innocent and hopefully they will know that God loves them and so do we.

BOLD COFFEE - BOLD TALK - BOLD WALK

"So you're sitting around a table in your favorite coffee shop, Murky Water Coffee House, talking with a few friends. The Espresso Machine hums in the background. The smell of your double Chocolate Macchiato calms your senses as you settle in your seat side-by-side a great group of friends.

After some casual chitchat, the topic of what it really means to be a "Christian" comes up. Over time, the discussion around your table becomes the discussion around the room. What does it mean to follow Jesus? How do we follow HIM? Why would we follow HIM? How do we live that life? It may sound basic, but this conversation is bold, this coversation is deep, just like the dark brew you hold in your hand.

Every once and awhile your favorite coffee house band, The Josiah Smith Band, does a set of some powerful worship music, and other students around the room pull out there Bibles and read key verses that tie into the conversation. We're talking Bold verses like:

"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10:31

Several local youth leaders, that just happened to come to hear the band jump into the conversation and deepen the perspective. Meanwhile, Murky Water's goofy barista's (coffee jerks) keep jumping into the conversation with a joke, a tall tale, and a refill.

Now, that is a memorable cup of coffee!"

 

"I Can Only Imagine"...What is it going to be like when we get to Heaven? God has treasures in Heaven that we could never acquire here on Earth. Come to Teen Group and let's find out what God has in store for us!
