How did you let your Light shine this week?

All kids K - 6th are invited to Kids On A Mission!

We are having lots of fun while learning about missionaries

& their work for Christ all over the world.

Wednesday's 6:30-7:30 pm

+++Join Us Again Starting

Wednesday September 10th!+++

Lots of FUN every Wednesday night!

Come Join us and see what some of our church and community members talents and gifts are. They'll be sharing a different talent with us each Wednesday.

We've already had several friends of Kids on a Mission come show us some new things:

We've had Mrs. Nora show us how to make homeade soap and taught us how soap was made in the Bible.

Mrs. Judy showed us how to play the organ. Hopefully we're practicing the B-I-B-L-E song that she taught us so that we may be able to help her play on Sunday morning. What fun!

Mrs. Lorenda brought some of her album making supplies and let us make cards for our loved ones. We made lots of really neat cards with football players, hunters, cheerleaders and lots of other stuff! Thanks.

Coming UP on Wednesday, April 23, Mrs. Helen is going to show us her musical talents.

On Wednesday, April 30th, Pastor will be showing us how to do a little wood carving.

Wednesday, May 5th, Mrs. Ramona will be sharing her talents along with Mrs. Jackie on May 7th.

Mrs. Nora will be back sharing her gifts of horsemanship. She has lots of little ponies to share with us!

You DON'T want to MISS any of these wonderful dates!!!!

****WOW!!!:****

Hi, This year our "Kids on a Mission" are using Matt. 5:16 "Let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." Each week we ask them how they let "their light" shine that day or in the past week. It is good to hear the many ways they share. It is important for them to know they are missionaries in their daily lives and do not have to be grown-up or go to a foreign country to be a missionary.

We began this fall by learning about Turkey and getting to know the Engblom's and the work they are doing. We made stained glass window clings, wove potholders, learned about the Turkish Flag, know where Istanbul is and also Mt. Ararat. We have eaten dried apricots and "tried" to eat roasted pumpkins seeds if only Sue had not roasted them toooo long. Lorenda taught us how to play backgammon. We have a tea set to use from the Engblom's last visit.

We have made Get Well cards, Good bye cards and birthday cards for people who have been in our lives, but have since moved away. We want them to know we remember them in our prayer time. This also is a good outreaach or missionary job for them.

We play a game like "Fruit Basket Upset" only using different kinds of lights for the fruit. We say "let your light shine" instead of "fruit basket upset".

We drew different lights so we can be reminded of different types of light and we are using those pictures to make a quilted banner for the back of the church with the key verse...Matt. 5:16.

We have a very special closing and each child prays for one of the missionaries or how they can be a light. We also like singing "This Little Light of Mine" and "Give me Oil in my Lamp".

We have also been working on "light" this Christmas season. We made candles by filling jelly jars with candy and tea lites and tied with ribbon.

We are making ice candle luminaries for our Christmas Dinner Theatre. We filled ice cream buskets with Christmas pine cones and branches and water to freeze - then the night of the dinner, we will put the tea lights down the walkway outside leading to our door.

"Let Your Light So Shine!"
